VITALLIFE-Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapy

What is Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapy?

PRP therapy is a promising, non-surgical treatment to promote the natural healing of osteoarthritis, tendons, ligaments and other soft tissue injuries. It combines the body’s natural healing ability with cutting-edge science and technology to deliver fast and long-lasting rejuvenation and repair.

Heal yourself with cutting edge technology

PRP was first used 20 years ago to improve wound healing in cancer patients and in reconstructive plastic surgery. Its applications have since been extended to other fields of medicine, including cardiovascular surgery, orthopedics and sports medicine.

How does PRP Therapy work?

The body has an amazing capacity to heal itself. When injury occurs the body signals platelets and other components in the blood to migrate to the site of injury. These platelets release ‘healing components’ or growth factors that initiate and promote repair.

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy for joints and tendons harnesses and concentrates these platelets and introduces them precisely to a site of injury via injection. The delivery of these platelets directly into areas of typically low blood supply has the potential to “supercharge” the healing process.

How many treatments are needed and when will I see results?

The number of treatments depends on the severity of the injury. On average, one to three treatments are necessary. They are typically spaced four to six weeks apart. First results can be noticed after a few short weeks. Full benefits are typically experienced within three to six months after completion of the treatment course.

At VitalLife Scientific Wellness Center, we complement PRP therapy with advanced techniques such as photobio- modulation and nutraceuticals to further enhance musculoskeletal repair.
