The measurement to allow foreigners enter the kingdom to receive medical treatment in Thailand.

The travellers have to prepare these documents and submit to the Thai Embassy in their country to get Certificate of Entry (COE)

1  Document or certificate from the hospital at their country stating the need for treatment. (medical tourists)
2  Document or certificate of hospital in Thailand confirming the acceptance of travellers to get medical treatment in the hospital for a period not less than 14 days (medical tourists)
3  Medical certificate confirming that the travellers have a Fit to Fly Health Certificate or according to the condition of moving medical patient and a medical certificate confirming that they have not been detected of Covid-19 within a period of 72 hours before departure
4  Documentary evidence showing that travellers can be responsible for medical expenses and all other expenses incurred during their stay in the country.
5  An insurance policy that covers the cost of health care and medical treatment of not less than US$100,000

Travellers have to submit all above documents and necessary documents to The Thai Embassy in their country to get approval for Certificate of Entry – COE

After approval, the embassy will send link of airlines and state quarantine list to travellers
The Thai Embassy will provide airlines and arrange safety measurement for travellers
Travellers can choose their state quarantine places from the link which provided by the Thai Embassy

When travellers arrive in Thailand

There will be screening for symptoms and fever, and they must travel by medical vehicle only
Have a tracking system or install the application as required by the government to monitor the symptoms during the quarantine
There will be Covid-19 test during their quarantine


This time allows for medical travellers only
Travellers have to prepare all necessary documents first and submit to the Thai Embassy for approval
Do not book any flight or hotel by yourself, you have to wait for approval to get Certificate of Entry
After approval you have to wait for the link of airlines and state quarantine list which provided by the Thai Embassy only

CAAT’s recommendations for 11 exempt types of travellers planning a trip to Thailand

Medical and Wellness Tourists from overseas are considered to come in August 2020

The Royal Thai Government is considering local tours for medical and wellness tourists from overseas from next month, and the restart of inbound tourism under a "travel bubbles" concept in September.

Bangkok, 05 July, 2020 – Thailand has announced its health capability to manage the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic as the kingdom is opening doors for 11 groups of Thai and non-Thai nationals from earlier this month.

The Royal Thai Government is also considering local tours for medical and wellness tourists from overseas from next month, and to restart inbound tourism under a “travel bubbles” concept in September.

The 11 groups of Thai and non-Thai nationals, currently allowed to enter Thailand with “Certificate of Entry” from a Thai embassy or consulate overseas, include foreigners who require medical treatment – except for COVID-19 – in Thailand, and their attendants, and foreigners permitted to enter the kingdom under a special arrangement with a foreign country.

Thus far, Thailand has recorded no new local cases of COVID-19 infection for over a month. The nation has gradually given the green light for businesses and activities to resume normal operations in phases, including phase one from 3 May, phase two from 17 May, phase three from 1 June, phase four from 15 June, and most recently phase five from 1 July.

According to the Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA), Thailand is well equipped with health capabilities to manage the pandemic, including an adequate number of hospital beds in Bangkok and elsewhere in the country. A total of 568 beds at hotels designated as state quarantine locations have been assigned nationwide.

In terms of medical supplies, Thailand currently has 1,127,970 N95 surgical masks, 511,578 sets of personal protective equipment (PPE), 11,096 ventilators, and 319,994 tablets of Favipiravir, which can be used for approximately 4,571 patients.

Thailand is implementing its screening, quarantine, and reporting measures for international arrivals to the country per the traveller’s destination of origin and final destination in the country.

The isolation and quarantine approaches include:

1 Local quarantine for interprovincial travellers, state quarantine for international arrivals, and alternative state quarantine for international arrivals at their own expense.

2. Home (self-monitoring).

3. Organisational quarantine.

4. Hospital quarantine for close observation.

According to the CCSA, Thailand’s health capability and unprecedented measures on the COVID-19 prevention will allow the country to maintain the “zero local case” for as long as possible for the health and safety of the over 67 million citizens of Thailand, especially as the country is opening doors for more international arrivals.

In the meantime, the CCSA recommends that everyone remain on guard by observing the social distancing rules, wearing masks and frequently washing hands to protect themselves and others from communicable diseases.

The Hermit Exercises posture or Ruesi Datton is the wisdom of Thai ancestors for a long time and has been practiced as part of Traditional Thai Massage. The Ruesi Datton is a physical exercise of Thai people Which focuses on practicing breath and focusing concentration both physical and mental management as well as helping in the treatment of primary illnesses. Institute of Thai Traditional Medicine have selected 15 basic Ruesi Datton postures to be used in starting a practice. If people practice regularly, it will promote health and can prevent the disease as well.

The benefits of posture exercise Ruti Datton

1. To help the natural movements of arms, legs or joints to be flow with emphasis on massage. Some positions will include pressing or massage as well.
2. Improve blood circulation that will bring energy and freshness to body
3. Against disease, maintain health for a long life
4. Combine with meditation, it helps to lift the mind from frustration, irritability, lethargy, disillusionment, stress, and improves the efficiency of breathing if correct breathing is practiced.

The local wisdom of health and wellness can be experienced throughout Thailand

Local wisdom holds a highly respected place in communities of all sizes throughout Thailand, employing knowledge and traditions that are faithfully passed on from generation to generation. It’s applied in various areas of everyday life, including health and wellness. Particular locations or attractions are often renowned for a certain expertise or wisdom; such as, the following in each of the kingdom’s five regions.

Central Region – Abhaibhubejhr Day Spa and Museum in Prachin Buri
Prachin Buri province is known for its herbal plants and traditional Thai medicines, and is often referred to as Thailand’s herbal city. A lot about medical local wisdom can be learned here and an interesting place to start is the Abhaibhubejhr Thai Herbal Medicine Museum which – much as its name suggests – is dedicated to preserving and showcasing traditional Thai medicine knowledge.

The Northeast – Buddhist Meditation Retreats
Those interested in doing a Buddhist meditation retreat may choose to do so at a temple in Northeast Thailand. Many of the monasteries in the Northeast fall under the Thai forest tradition, in which monastics aim to live as closely to how the Buddha lived as possible. Hallmarks of this tradition include living in the forest, using the human body as a meditation subject and maintaining mindfulness in all activities.

The South – Ranong Hot Springs
Ranong’s hot springs have long been reputed for their medicinal properties and this, together with their rustic outdoor appeal, see them continue to draw both foreign and Thai visitors. The springs, of which the closest are a convenient 2 kilometres from Ranong town in Raksawarin Park, are probably the most popular attraction in the surrounding area.
